文化能力 (Culture competency) 是指對所有不同文化背景、 語言、階級、種族、宗教的人群，能以覺察、 肯定的方式，提供優質有效並尊重賦權於個人、家庭、團體、社區的過程的一種能力。多元文化課程則是指以「社會人文」的觀點，強調「多元」、 「差異」與「社會行動」等概念，來論述與關懷人口、文化、環境、健康、護理之間相互關係的課程。本研究目的為：（1) 瞭解專科護理師文化能利及多元文化課程需求之現況 ；（2）探討專科護理師不同基本屬性對文化能力之差異情形 ；（3）探討不同基本屬性對多元文化課程需求之差異情形；（4)探討專科護理師之「基本屬性」、「文化能力」及「多元文化課程需求」之相關情形 。

      本研究以方便取樣 86 位專科護理師為研究對象，採用結構性問卷進行資料收集，評估專科護理師的文化能力。研究工具包括：（ 1）填表人背景資料，（ 2)多元文化能力量表，及（ 3）多元文化在職教育課程需求量表 。以次數分配、百 分率、平均數及標準差進行描述性統計，以獨立樣本t檢定、單因子變異數分析及積差相關等統計方法進行推論性統計。

      研究結果發現專科護理師整體文化能力為中上程度，且對於多元課程有高度需求。專科護理師的文化能力及對多元課程的需求度，不因基本屬性不同而有顯著差異。當專科護理師的文化自覺、文化敏銳度及文化技巧程度越高時，其對多元文化課程的需求度越高；當文化知識程度越低時，其對多元文化課程的需求程度越高。

 Cultural competence refers to the ability of all groups different cultural backgrounds, languages, classes, races and religions to provide quality and effective and respect for the process of empowering individuals, families, groups,and communities in a conscious and positive manner. Multicultural curriculum refers to  the concept of "pluralism", difference" and social action" in the view of  "social humanities" to discuss and care about the relationship between population, culture,environment, health and care. The purposes of this study were  to (1) explore the situation of cultural competence of Nurse practitioner (NPs) and the needs of multicultural curriculum; (2) explore NPs’ cultural competence and its affecting factors,factors, (3) explore NPs’ needs of the multicultural curriculum and its a factors, (4) identify the relationship among "personal background factors", "cultural competence" and " needs of the multicultural curriculum" for NP.

    Convenious sampling was employed to recruit 86 NP. A cross-sectional study which collected data with the "Nurse practitioner’s Multicultural Curriculum Needs  Scale". Date was analyzed by descriptive statistice  independent samples t test and  one -way analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA) statistics inferential statistical methods. The results demonstrated that the average score in NPs' overall cultural competence is moderate to high level and there is a high demand  for multicultural curriiculum.The results of this study can be used as a reference for the future development of in -service education curriculum for NPs.
